What time of year is best for turfing?
Turf can be laid year-round but spring and autumn give the best results as the ground is moist and temperatures are moderate. Avoid laying in frost or drought conditions.
How soon can we use the lawn after turfing?
You should stay off the new turf for at least 3 weeks to allow the roots to establish. After that it can be used normally.
Do you prepare the ground before laying?
Yes — ground preparation is the most important part of the job. We remove all old vegetation, rotovate, level and top dress with quality topsoil before laying.
How much watering does new turf need?
New turf needs generous watering — typically twice a day in dry conditions for the first 3 weeks. We provide full aftercare instructions with every job.
Can you turf awkward shapes and slopes?
Yes. We cut turf to fit any shape and can turf gentle slopes very effectively. We will advise on ground preparation and appropriate turf varieties for your conditions.
